At Devonport 7 Day Pharmacy, our trained pharmacists can provide consultations for Wegovy® (semaglutide) as part of a personalised weight management programme.

During your private consultation, we'll discuss your health goals, medical history, current medications, and whether Wegovy is a suitable treatment option for you. If appropriate, your pharmacist can prescribe and supply Wegovy without you needing to see a GP.

What is Wegovy®?

Wegovy® is a once-weekly injectable medicine that helps adults lose weight by reducing appetite, increasing feelings of fullness, and helping to reduce food intake. It is most effective when used alongside a healthy diet, regular physical activity, and long-term lifestyle changes.

Who May Be Suitable?

Wegovy may be appropriate for adults who:

• Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² or greater, or

• Have a BMI of 27 kg/m² or greater with a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, or obstructive sleep apnoea.

Suitability is determined during a comprehensive pharmacist consultation and in accordance with New Zealand prescribing guidelines.

• Education on how to use Wegovy safely

• Advice on nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyle changes

Cost

Wegovy consultations and medication are privately funded and are not currently funded by Health New Zealand.
